Judge denies bid to dismiss Siskiyou water-rights suit

The Siskiyou County Farm Bureau overcame an important first hurdle in its lawsuit over whether the California Department of Fish and Game went too far in its recent interpretation of a long-standing state environmental law, by requiring farmers and ranchers in the Scott and Shasta valleys to obtain permits before exercising their water rights.
