USDA makes food-box purchases

As part of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved $1.2 billion in contracts through its Farmers to Families Food Box Program, which is intended to connect excess meat, dairy and produce with families facing food insecurity during the COVID-19 emergency.
