3rd Assembly District James Gallagher

A Sutter County supervisor with deep agricultural roots in the region, James Gallagher, has earned the California Farm Bureau Federation endorsement in his campaign for state Assembly. Gallagher, R-Yuba City, seeks election in the 3rd Assembly District, which includes parts of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Sutter, Tehama and Yuba counties.

"Growing up on a farm gave James Gallagher a firsthand understanding of how important agriculture is to the Sacramento Valley," CFBF President Paul Wenger said. "He has dedicated himself as an advocate for farmers and small business owners—a perspective that's crucial to maintain in the state Legislature."

Gallagher is the sixth generation of his family to farm in Sutter County. He was elected to the county Board of Supervisors in 2008, to a seat his grandfather held 24 years earlier. Gallagher is a practicing attorney who specializes in agricultural business law.

"His experience representing farmers as an attorney and his experience representing his community on the county board of supervisors gives James Gallagher an intimate knowledge of the region and of what's needed to secure its future," Wenger said. "We look forward to working with him in the state Assembly to address the needs of farmers, ranchers and all residents of the 3rd District."
