Make time to voice concerns on issues affecting your farm

The California Farm Bureau is calling on its members to participate in the organization’s Calling on the Capitol Series. The series is an opportunity for members to meet with state lawmakers and advocate for issues that impact California agriculture.
It takes the place of Farm Bureau’s Capitol Ag Day, which was held in past years in March and brought Farm Bureau members from across the state to the Capitol on a single day.
This year, Farm Bureau’s legislative visits are scheduled throughout the month of May, a critical time in the state Legislature’s policymaking calendar, with Farm Bureau members from a different region of the state invited to meet at the Capitol each week of the month.
The series is designed to offer members a chance to engage in meaningful legislative discussions with the full support of Farm Bureau staff. Participants will receive guidance to help make the most of their visits with state lawmakers and legislative staff.
On May 6, members from Fresno, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties are invited to the Capitol.
The following day, May 7, statewide members of Young Farmers & Ranchers will meet at the Capitol.
On May 13, members from Butte, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Inyo-Mono, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Monterey, Nevada, Orange, Placer, Plumas-Sierra, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Shasta, Siskiyou, Yuba-Sutter, Tehama and Trinity counties will advocate in Sacramento.
On May 20, members from Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Lake, Marin, Napa, Sacramento, San Francisco, Solano, Sonoma and Yolo counties will visit the Capitol.
Finally, on May 27, members from Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Benito, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, Tulare and Ventura counties will visit the Capitol.
If members can’t attend with their county, they are encouraged to attend one of the other visits. Register at cfbf.com/capitol and make their voices heard on the issues that matter most to them.
