43 students earn Farm Bureau scholarship awards


The California Farm Bureau Scholarship Foundation has awarded scholarships to 43 students interested in careers in agriculture.

The scholarships included $200,000 awarded through the Rustici Livestock and Rangeland Scholarship program for students pursuing studies in cattle and sheep ranching employing sound rangeland practices.

Named in honor of Russell Rustici, a Lake County cattle rancher and philanthropist with a deep interest in cattle ranching and preservation of rangeland ecosystems, the program offers scholarships of $2,500 and $5,000 for two-year college and four-year university students.

The Rustici scholarship recipients, by county, are:

Amador, Teagan Wunschel; Butte, Nico Donati and Zane Naphan; El Dorado, Bryan Bloxsom; Fresno, Amos Khasigian; Humboldt, Gabriel Abundis, Garrett Christiansen, Malela Fulton, Paden Prior and Anthony Zinselmeir; Imperial, Philip Minnick; Kern, Grace Elliott, Kyleigh Forster and Malana Unsell; Lassen, Shade Satica; Marin, Logan Pomi; Modoc, Shelby Criner; Nevada, Meghan Garren; Placer, Abby Donovan; Plumas, Kaidyn Holland and Kristin Roberti; Sacramento, Brandon Gutierrez, Abigale Jacobsen and Jace Williams; San Diego, Kylie Konyn, Madilyn Golden and Mac Moretti; San Joaquin, Emma Bracco; San Luis Obispo, Laila Shea; Shasta, Jenner Laustalot and Jaycee Norris; Sierra, Aubree Roen; Sonoma, Kiley Andersen, Kassidy Bianchi and Emma Stafford; Sutter, Delaney Amarel and Quinn Stafford; Tulare, Giana Hollingsworth and Serena Schotanus; and Yuba, Caleb Eberhardt and Linzee DeGraff.

In addition, $3,750 was awarded from the Curt and Joan Moran Scholarship program to support two agriculture students from Lassen County, Katelyn Kirack and Tyler Dei Rossi Wood.
