Ag plastics to be conference topic

Online registration has opened for the second Agricultural Plastics Recycling Conference & Trade Show, scheduled for Aug. 19-21 in San Diego.

Organizers describe the event as a "networking forum," intended to bring together plastic recyclers, brokers, farmers, nursery operators, agricultural plastic manufacturers and government officials, "to discuss the solutions to the landfilling and open burning of waste agricultural plastics."

The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina in San Diego.

Topics include agricultural plastic recycling markets, film mulch recycling, collection programs for agriculutral plastics and manufacture of biodegradable or compostable agricultural plastics.

Registration prior to July 31 costs $497 for private-sector attendees, $397 for representatives of government agencies and non-profit organizations, and $127 for students. Fees for each class of registration will rise by $100 on Aug. 1.
