Conway to head state FSA office
A former Assembly minority leader has been appointed state executive director for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency.
Connie Conway will be responsible for running the day-to-day activities of the state FSA office, which is based in Davis, and will help implement USDA policies in planning, organizing and administering FSA programs in California.
As an elected official, Conway served on the Tulare County Board of Supervisors before winning election to the state Assembly in 2008. She served as Assembly minority leader from 2010-14. Since leaving elected office, she has operated a consulting business focused on strategic planning, business development and government relations.
The USDA Farm Service Agency implements agricultural policy, administers credit and loan programs, and manages conservation, commodity, disaster and farm marketing programs through a national network of offices.
