Researchers find that ditch helps with water quality

Running by the side of the U.S. Department of Agriculture test fields on Spence Road outside Salinas, a 500-foot ditch lined with perennial grass is proving to be a surprisingly effective treatment system for removing agricultural chemicals from tailwater before it leaves the farm.
