Opponents drop opposition to country-of-origin labels

Opponents to the U.S. country-of-origin labeling law have dropped their lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Agriculture, ending efforts from domestic and international meatpackers to block U.S. mandatory rules that require labels on meat identifying where the animal was born, raised and slaughtered.
