Specialists look into reuse of farm drainage water

The idea of reusing drainage water is not new, since it's been proposed and tried in different areas for many years, but it has gained new relevance now, given the prolonged drought in California. Some potential ways to reuse saline water and the effect on crops were highlighted at a September workshop in the Imperial Valley, where the water shortage is prompting growers to evaluate their options.
