FDA revises proposed rules governing food-safety law

Saying it wants to provide added flexibility for farmers, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced revisions to four proposed rules intended to help prevent foodborne illness. When finalized, the proposed rules will implement portions of the Food Safety Modernization Act, which aims to strengthen food safety.
