Almond standards to be adjusted

Standards for in-shell almond grades are being revised. The U.S. Department of Agriculture said in a statement last week that the Almond Board of California has recommended changing the method of reporting defective almonds from one that counts individual defects in each sample to a process that weighs defective almonds found within the given sample.
