Nitrogen control promotes citrus growth, cuts costs
Spring and early summer are the best times to apply nitrogen to citrus, experts with the University of California Cooperative Extension say. Research has shown that demand for nitrogen in citrus is highest from bloom through June, making that period the best time to apply nitrogen fertilizer.
