State likes Flood-MAR potential but sees obstacles

As groundwater sustainability agencies work to bring California's overdrafted basins into balance, government officials continue to evaluate a voluntary strategy involving use of high floodwater flows to recharge groundwater. They described the strategy—known as Flood-MAR for "managed aquifer recharge"—to the California Water Commission last week.
