Commentary: On overtime legislation, act now, don’t wait

As I'm sure most farmers and ranchers are well aware, Assembly Bill 1066, the bill that would limit agricultural workers to an eight-hour workday and a 40-hour workweek, successfully passed out of the Legislature on Aug. 29 and has now been sent to Gov. Brown for his consideration. He has until Sept. 30 to sign or veto the measure, but he could act sooner.
