Reduced Trinity water releases are approved by federal court

Water releases from Trinity River storage began last week to protect fall run salmon in the Klamath River, but at a reduced level than was previously announced. Based on a federal court decision in Fresno last week, the amount of water the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation will be allowed to transfer will be about 20,000 acre feet, down from the previously announced 100,000 acre feet.
