Fish-friendly farming effort, nursery earn state honors

A fish-friendly farming program based in Napa and a family-run hothouse tomato and cucumber business in Ventura County were among those honored last week as recipients of the 2011 Governor's Environmental and Economic Leadership Award. State agencies that administer the award describe it as the state's highest honor for those who make significant contributions by developing environmentally friendly practices while contributing to the local economy.
