Pumpkin shipments begin

As temperatures cool and autumn nears, community pumpkin patches get ready for harvest season. In Turlock, employees at R.A.M. Farms, home of "the Happiest Pumpkins on Earth," prepare dozens of just-harvested pumpkins, gourds and winter squash for shipment to a Southern California theme park. The Stanislaus County farm grows more than 40 varieties of pumpkins, gourds and squash, and also hosts schoolchildren during the season, which opens later this month.
