Through the decades with CFBF—1980s

Issue Date: July 24, 2019

Each month leading to the California Farm Bureau Federation centennial, we're highlighting a different decade in our history.

In 1980, CFBF founded an Agricultural Education Program that led, in 1986, to the launch of the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom.

In 1981, CFBF advocated successfully for passage of the California Right to Farm Law.

The image shows Vice President George Bush, during his 1988 presidential campaign, talking with CFBF First Vice President Bob Vice during a stop in Fresno.

Next month, the 1990s.
